Tim Willis, the chair, called the meeting to order at 3.06pm.
Tim introduced the facilitator, Penny Jones for the away day.
Ms Penny Jones introduced herself and would like to know what each and everyone would like to learn/get from the “Away day” of 26th March. Self-introduction was then made and various views ideas and suggestions were given.
2.1 Correction – it was left out that Tee volunteered to represent the steering group on ODPM’s Regen TV.
2.2 Unfortunately James is on holiday and could not give a feedback on off the estate service licence issue.
3.1 Richard Stubbs went through his written report and explained in details the various points.
3.2 C&D Centre works and equipment. Roof Ltd has started work on the various alterations and repairs for the centre.
3.3 C&D Centre whiteboard/projector. Is being overseen by Richard Overton
3.4 Supporting home learning. This is the pc recycling project. Newham council have already made 50pcs available. Although an ERDF project SRB will now let us start earlier than planned and ERDF funds can be used to further develop it later.
3.5 Intelligent Housing. The TMO board gave their support to the project and it would soon start.
3.6 ODPM Regen TV. Ought to start in April but we are yet to be informed of any decision on the Council’s application.
3.7 Stratford web cam. Should be installed very soon as it has to be running by 1st April. It would also be perfect for the Olympics and watching all the work done.
4.1 Richard Stubbs went through his written report and explained in detail what is expected of us.
4.2 Although SRB is the main money currently funding our work it is anticipated that we will receive match funding from ERDF. This will result in more requirements, mainly in terms of video production.
5.1 Richard Overton reported that the games are still down on the system. Work is going on to repair it. The system was also down for a few hours due to the high volume of down loaded materials.
5.2 A new set of programmes will go on air after 11th March hopefully this will encourage more people to use the system.
6.1 A lot of the videos being done now are for the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, which has been paid for. James is on a one-week holiday break.
6.2 There is a back load of work to be edited that ought to go on the system. Richard Stubbs will have a chat with Simon about this.
7.1 All the training courses are fully booked. Richard Overton would go through the proposed syllabus before the day so that everything would run smoothly.
8.1 A lot of things happening in the school, which the school would like to put on the system. There is a good working relation with the school and the Craft College.
The meeting was rounded up at 4.55pm
Away Day is on 26th March at West Ham United Football Club
