In October 2000 Newham Online was asked to work with Newham Council to develop an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) strategy for Newham. The initial work is being undertaken by Newham Online's Steering Group which will then consult more widely with the others involved in Newham Online. You are welcome to view progress. This site also provides a home for Newham Council's ICT in the Community Strategy Group which works very closely with Newham Online.

The Steering Group includes local people with a wide range of expertise in ICT and is drawn from the membership of Newham Online's Core mailing list which can be joined by anyone in the Borough who has responsibility for ICT strategy or implementation..  Members of the Steering Group are encouraged to become Cyber Champions for particular aspects of ICT.
